From our friends at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, we wanted to make sure you were aware about “Texans for a Conservative Budget Day” at the State Capitol this Wednesday, 4/6. It is extremely important that all Texans who believe in limited government and fiscal responsibility communicate with their state representatives on Wednesday, 4/6.
The Texas Public Policy Foundation, Americans for Prosperity-Texas, Americans for Tax Reform, Empower Texans, the Liberty Institute, and the National Federation for Independent Business-Texas are hosting a joint press conference at 11 a.m. on the North Steps of the Capitol to encourage our legislators to cut non-essential programs, not raise taxes or fees, and not go back into the rainy day fund. Afterwards, AFP is organizing a resource room at which you may pick up literature on the state budget that you can share with your state senator and representative. We know this is short notice, but we hope you can join us at the State Capitol on Wednesday.
If you cannot come to Austin, please make a point to call your state senator and state representative on Wednesday and convey the same message:
1. cut non-essential programs,
2. don’t raise taxes or fees,
3. don’t go back into the rainy day fund.
Whether you come to Austin or not, your legislators need to hear from you tomorrow, Wednesday, 4/6.
The unions and left-wing groups are busing in their troops from all over the state to pound our legislators into raising taxes and emptying our savings instead of reducing spending. We need to reinforce our legislators to hold the line and live within our means.
Thank you for your commitment to limited government and fiscal responsibility!
Please share this information to all your fellow Texans via email, Facebook, tweet, phone call, etc.!
Don’t leave it to someone else, you ARE someone else! 🙂
